Introduction:
Having decided to hang his racing shoes up, Jim took responsibility for the team management of the male young athlete cross country and road relay teams in addition to the senior track and field teams. Jim was instrumental in the Club's successful push for promotion in the 2008 Northern Senior League and the success of the team can be traced back to Jim's enthusiasm for encouraging athletes to compete for their Club.

Jim also provides coaching expertise and works closely with Julian Field in developing the under 13-15 boys middle distance group. As a former quality athlete Jim is able to pass on his valuable experience of competition to his athletes and is always prepared to discuss issues and assist with other coaches.

Jim is also a qualified time-keeper and is the Club press officer liaising with the local newspapers.
Personal Achievements:
Jim is a sub 2 hours 30 mins marathon runner.

He has experience as a steeplechaser and he has worked with some of the older athletes on steeplechase barrier techniques.

2010 North of England Cross Country Champions under 13 boys;
2009 North of England Cross Country Championships under 13 boys 4th Team;
2008 Cheshire Road Relay Champions under 13 boys;
2008 North West Road Relay Champions under 13 boys;
