Julie is another of our coaches that brings together both coaching & competition experience at a high level.

Julie currently guides a small group of athletes who compete over the sprint & 400m disciplines and also works closely with former international sprinter Paula Dunne at Trafford. During 2005 - 2007 Julie worked closely with Stoke's Keith Fradley, assisting in sessions with 2008 Sprint Olympian Ashley Nelson.

As a coach Julie has developed several athletes to Regional and National medal winning standard including Robert Black who competed for Scotland during 2007 and her daughter Beth who gained medals at the North of England indoor and outdoor championships during 2006 and placed 5th in the English Schools 200m Championships in 2006.

Julie also performed at the highest level as an athlete running 2 mins 10.6 seconds for 800m as a 17 year old and finishing in 4th place at the English Schools 400m in 1980 running 56 seconds. Julie still retains some of the Club records. As a member of the England Athletics Coaching Network Julie had the distinction of the leading County sprint coach during 2007 and she continues to discuss ways of developing young athletes currently working closely with former international sprinter Paula Dunn at Trafford.
