National Road Relay Championships Sunday 6th October 2019 Sutton Park Sutton Coldfield

The National Road Relay Championships were held on Sunday 6th October at Sutton Park Sutton Coldfield with Warrington Athletic Club having a team in the Under 17 men and Senior Men.
In the under 17 Men’s race the team were led off by Brandon Quinton who recently changed from Bury AC with an excellent run to hand over in 3rd place with a time of 11 minutes 52 seconds.Joel Birchall took over for the second stage and recorded a time of 12 minutes 53 seconds to hand over in 8th place.The final stage was taken by Isaaq Ataullah who held onto 8th place recording 13 minutes 02 seconds for a total time of 37 minutes 47 seconds.With 55 teams completing the race `Brandon’s time was the 3rd fastest in the race.
In the Senior Men’s race the team were below full strength but all gave their best efforts with Tom Greaves taking the first stage and handing over 78th in 21 minutes 15 seconds.Paul Bagan took over and held the position with a run of 20 minutes 31 seconds.Next up was Steve Watmough who moved up to 75th place with a time of 20 minutes 41 seconds.Ben Webb took over for the 4th stage and again moved the team up to 71st place recording 21 minutes 14 seconds before handing on to Leighton Sharman who took another 2 places handing over in 69th place with 20 minutes 43 seconds and Luke Gamble recorded 20 minutes 48 seconds on the final stage to bring the team home in 67th place with a total time of 2 hours 05 minutes 12 seconds.
